Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) seeks an engineer to design and coordinate smart mobility projects using electrical, civil and systems engineering knowledge. The role emphasizes field troubleshooting, traffic signals, and transportation systems with opportunities to work across southeastern US clients.

Ideal candidates hold an ABET-accredited degree, may pursue EIT/EI, and have 0–5 years of experience. Travel requirements include site visits and occasional overnight trips as project needs

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial, civil or systems engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Engineer-in-training (EIT) certification or commitment to obtain within 6 months for non-civil degrees.
• 0–5 years of engineering experience with clear written and professional communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist with traffic signal design, CAD and field work.
• Support traffic signal corridor retiming, field work and implementation.
• Prepare engineering documents for ads and construction.
• Develop project quantities for construction cost estimates.
• Collaborate on other traffic and safety studies with client specifications.
