Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson is seeking an engineer to design traffic signal and smart mobility projects, combining electrical, civil, and systems engineering. The role includes field work, CAD tasks, design computations, and coordination with clients across the southeastern US.

The ideal candidate has an ABET-accredited engineering degree, EIT certification or plan to obtain it within 6 months, and willingness to travel for field assignments within state and occasional out-of-state trips.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial, civil or systems engineering.
• Willingness to travel for field work, including occasional overnight trips.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with clients across the southeastern US.

Responsibilities

• Assist with traffic signal design, including CAD and field work.
• Assist with traffic signal corridor retiming, including field work, implementation, and fine-tuning.
• Assist with design computations and plan preparations.
• Assist with other traffic and safety studies, including field work.
• Assist in designing projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing tools.
• Assist with developing the project quantities for construction cost estimate.
• Assist in the preparation of engineering documents for advertisement and construction.
