Job summary

Apex Companies seeks an experienced Senior Project Engineer for the Traffic section of our New England Transportation Division. This hybrid role can be based in Quincy, MA; Woburn, MA; or Providence, RI, and involves leading complex traffic projects and coordinating with clients and municipal boards.

The role requires a BS in Civil/Environmental Engineering, 5+ years of traffic experience, and a PE or ability to obtain licensure in MA within a year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• 5+ years of traffic experience.
• Registered Professional Engineer or ability to obtain licensure in Massachusetts within one year.
• Knowledge of MassDOT traffic study requirements is a plus.
• Expertise in Synchro software is required.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving history.

Responsibilities

• Technical supervision of complex projects ensuring quality, scope, budget, and schedule.
• Oversee or prepare traffic studies and analyses for various projects.
• Develop traffic solutions applying engineering knowledge to produce quality work.
• Oversee traffic signal design plans and traffic management plans.
• Maintain client relationships and contribute to proposals and fee estimates.
• Prepare technical memos, reports, and contractual documents.
• Supervise and train staff and manage workload and career development.
