Job summary

Kapsch TrafficCom North America is hiring a Traffic Operations Center Operator to monitor and direct traffic operations within the Riverside County area. You will operate ITS devices, coordinate with FSP and Caltrans, and support incident responses from the TOC control room.

The role requires a high school diploma and comfort with Microsoft Office. Onsite work is required with competitive hourly pay and full benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in customer service or emergency dispatch is a plus.
• Knowledge of ITS traffic systems, incident management and information systems is a plus.
• Deep understanding of the Riverside County roadway system and related infrastructure.
• Ability to multi-task in fast-paced situations and learn new systems quickly.

Responsibilities

• Traffic Monitoring and Management: monitor traffic flow, identify incidents, coordinate with FSP, CHP and Caltrans, operate CCTV and DMS.
• Data entry for the Traveler Information System and manage roadwork.
• Incident Management: detect incidents, coordinate response, disseminate public information, and assist TOC with FSP as needed.
