Job summary

Kapsch TrafficCom North America is seeking a Traffic Operations Center Operator to monitor and direct traffic in the Riverside County I-15 Express Lanes area. You will coordinate with FSP and Caltrans, operate ITS devices, and manage incident response in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a high school diploma, with prior dispatch or customer service experience considered a plus. Onsite work with full benefits, shifts include early and late day hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous customer service or emergency dispatch experience is a plus.
• Experience with ITS traffic systems, incident management, and DMS/CCTV is a plus.
• Knowledge of Riverside County roadway system.
• Ability to multi-task in fast-paced environments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ability to learn new systems.

Responsibilities

• Traffic Monitoring and Management
• Monitor traffic flow
• Identify incidents
• Coordinate Freeway Service Patrol (FSP)
• Coordinate with CHP and Caltrans
• Operate CCTV Cameras, DMS and related systems
• Data entry for Traveler Information System
• Manage Roadwork
• Incident Management
• Detect and verify incidents
• Initiate and coordinate response
• Activate and verify public information
• Disseminate incident information
• TOC Control Room coordinates FSP services after identification of an incident as required
• Document related or required data as needed
