Job summary

Kapsch TrafficCom North America is seeking a Traffic Operations Center Operator to monitor and direct traffic operations within the Riverside County area. The role involves operating ITS devices, coordinating with FSP and Caltrans, and ensuring timely incident response.

The position is onsite with no remote-work option and offers shifts across mornings and afternoons, with an hourly rate of $18.00. A high school diploma and prior dispatch or customer service experience are valued assets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous customer service or emergency dispatch experience is a plus.
• Experience with ITS traffic systems control and incident management is a plus.
• Ability to multi-task in fast-paced situations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Traffic Monitoring and Management
• Monitor traffic flow
• Identify incidents
• Coordinate Freeway Service Patrol (FSP)
• Coordinate with CHP and Caltrans
• Operate CCTV Cameras, DMS, and related systems
• Data entry for Traveler Information System
• Manage Roadwork
• Incident Management
• Detect and verify incidents
• Initiate and coordinate response
• Activate and verify public information
• Disseminate incident information
• TOC Control Room shall coordinate FSP services after identification of an incident
• Documentation of related or required data as needed
