Job summary

AECOM is seeking an onsite Traffic Monitoring Operator in Indianapolis, IN. The role involves monitoring CCTV feeds, coordinating with INDOT and responders, and relaying timely information to motorists. The operator will input data into standard incident databases and ensure accuracy across communications channels.

This is a full-time, non-remote position. The ideal candidate will hold a high school diploma or GED, pass background checks and drug screening, and be able to work varied shifts

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must pass a state and federal criminal history/security background check.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Ability and flexibility to work a variety of shifts.
• Constantly operate a computer and other monitoring equipment.
• Must remain stationary for long periods while monitoring CCTV and related systems.

Responsibilities

• Monitor CCTV traffic cameras and coordinate with INDOT personnel and responders.
• Disseminate information accurately and in a timely manner.
• Coordinate incident details with ISP and maintenance staff as needed.
• Input data into GEM and CARS databases for incidents and activities.
• Review events and traveler information for accuracy and completeness.
• Assess large volumes of data to detect roadway incidents.
• Communicate across staff and partner agencies to relay updates.
• Prepare facts and severity of incidents for public dissemination.
