Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Traffic & Intelligent Transportation System Manager to lead our Indianapolis Transportation team. You will direct traffic engineering studies, ITS design, and safety improvements for public-sector clients, coordinating with agencies and multidisciplinary teams to deliver data-driven transportation solutions.

The role requires extensive experience in traffic engineering and ITS, strong leadership, and the ability to mentor professionals while advancing AECOM’s transportation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field required.
• PE license in Indiana or ability to obtain within six months preferred.
• 12+ years of progressive experience in traffic engineering/ITS.
• Experience managing multi-discipline project teams and client communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead traffic engineering and ITS projects from planning to delivery.
• Oversee traffic operations analyses, forecasting, and simulations.
• Develop and implement ITS improvements and traffic management plans.
• Mentor and guide engineers and early-career staff.
• Coordinate with agencies, municipalities, and contractors.
• Ensure compliance with standards, budgets, and schedules.
