Job summary

AtkinsRéalis seeks an ITS/Traffic Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 in Tampa, FL. You will support the ITS/Traffic Engineering team with design, plan production, calculations, and project documentation while learning OpenRoads Designer and Civil 3D.

You will review field notes, assist with field reviews, and participate in coordination meetings. This entry-level role requires basic data entry, Excel skills, and teamwork, with a strong interest in transportation design.

Qualifications

• Must have completed 60 hours toward Civil or Electrical engineering degree from ABET program by Summer 2027.
• Basic computer skills to enter data into spreadsheets, forms or databases.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Interest in traffic engineering, ITS, and transportation design.
• Experience with OpenRoads Designer and Civil 3D is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support ITS/Traffic Engineering team with transportation design and plan production.
• Assist with traffic signalization, ITS, signing, and pavement marking tasks.
• Use OpenRoads Designer and Civil 3D to support drawings and CAD production.
• Review field notes, as-builts, and existing conditions to support design.
• Participate in field reviews and project coordination meetings.
