Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Tampa, FL, seeks an ITS/Traffic Engineering Intern for Spring 2027 to join our office. You will assist with transportation design, plan production, calculations, and documentation, supporting traffic signalization and ITS tasks.

Proficiency with OpenRoads Designer or Civil 3D is a plus; you will review field notes and participate in field reviews and team meetings while gaining hands-on experience.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Civil or Electrical engineering degree with 60 credit hours completed by Spring 2027.
• Must be enrolled in an ABET-accredited program.
• No prior internship required; rising or current students are eligible.

Responsibilities

• Support ITS/Traffic Engineering team with transportation design and plan production.
• Assist with traffic signalization, ITS, signing, and pavement marking tasks.
• Use OpenRoads Designer and Civil 3D for drawings and CAD production.
• Review field notes, as-builts, and existing conditions to support design.
• Participate in field reviews and project coordination meetings.
• Support admin and engineering tasks as assigned.
