Job summary

AtkinsRéalis seeks an ITS/Traffic Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 in our Tampa, FL office. You will support design, plan production, calculations, and project documentation for ITS/traffic projects using OpenRoads Designer and Civil 3D.

You will review field notes, participate in field reviews and coordination meetings, and assist with administrative and engineering tasks while gaining hands-on experience in transportation design and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills to enter data into spreadsheets, forms and databases.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Math skills for simple calculations and willingness to learn design workflows.
• Interest in traffic engineering, ITS, and transportation design.
• Experience with OpenRoads Designer and Civil 3D preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support ITS/Traffic Engineering design, plan production, calculations and project documentation.
• Assist with traffic signalization, ITS, signing, pavement markings and related tasks.
• Use OpenRoads Designer and Civil 3D to support drawings and CAD production.
• Review field notes, as-builts and existing conditions to support design development.
• Participate in field reviews and project coordination meetings.
• Support administrative and engineering tasks as assigned.
