Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Traffic Engineering Manager based in Orange, CA or Los Angeles, CA with a hybrid work model. The role focuses on leading traffic engineering projects, developing traffic impact studies, and coordinating with planners, designers, and construction managers to deliver safe, efficient transportation solutions.

The ideal candidate will have a California PE license, 6+ years of relevant experience (8+ preferred), and a proven track record with LADOT and Caltrans.

Qualifications

• BA/BS + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• California Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage traffic engineering projects from conception to completion.
• Develop and review traffic impact studies, traffic signal designs, and roadway safety audits.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including planners, designers, and construction managers.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Prepare and present project proposals, reports, and findings to clients and stakeholders.
• Conduct field investigations and data collection to support project development.
• Utilize traffic simulation software and other engineering tools to analyze and solve complex traffic issues.
