Job summary

AECOM is hiring a Traffic Engineering Manager based in Orange or Los Angeles, California, with a hybrid work arrangement. The role focuses on leading traffic engineering projects to improve safety, efficiency, and sustainability across transportation networks.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, managing, and implementing traffic solutions, with CA PE licensure and experience with LADOT/Caltrans preferred. Master’s degree and 8+ years experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• BA/BS + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• California Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage traffic engineering projects from conception to completion.
• Develop and review traffic impact studies, traffic signal designs, and roadway safety audits.
• Collaborate with planners, designers, and construction managers.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Prepare and present project proposals, reports, and findings to clients and stakeholders.
• Conduct field investigations and data collection to support project development.
• Utilize traffic simulation software and other engineering tools to analyze and solve complex traffic issues.
