Job summary

Mead & Hunt, Inc. invites you to join our summer internship in the Traffic Engineering & Advanced Mobility (TEAM) group in Charleston, WV. This full-time, limited-term position offers hands-on experience in traffic control device analysis, ITS concepts, and corridor studies on real roadways.

You will work with professionals to develop practical safety and mobility improvements. The ideal candidate has completed transportation engineering coursework and may have prior internship experience.

Qualifications

• Completed at least one transportation engineering related course
• Prior related internship experience
• Knowledge of MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
• Experience with traffic simulation software (e.g., HCS, Synchro)

Responsibilities

• Traffic data collection & field work
• Assist with engineering drawings, plan prep, and project reports using CAD/traffic modeling
• Research MUTCD, AASHTO, and local standards to support design recommendations
• Collaborate with professional engineers to brainstorm innovative safety and mobility solutions
• Other tasks as assigned
