Job summary

Mead & Hunt, Inc. invites you to join our limited-term, full-time summer internship with our Traffic Engineering & Advanced Mobility (TEAM) group.

The TEAM focuses on the analysis, design, and implementation of traffic control devices (e.g., signing, pavement markings, traffic signals, roadway lighting) as well as Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) such as variable speed limits and ramp metering along our roadways to improve traffic safety and mobility.

Qualifications

• Completed at least one transportation engineering related course.
• Prior related internship experience.
• Knowledge of MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
• Experience with traffic simulation software (e.g., HCS, Synchro).

Responsibilities

• Traffic data collection & field work.
• Use CAD and/or traffic modeling software to assist with engineering drawings, plan preparation, and project reports.
• Research MUTCD, AASHTO, and local standards to support design recommendations.
• Collaborate with professional engineers to brainstorm innovative safety / mobility solutions.
• Other tasks as assigned.
