Job summary

Mead & Hunt invites you to join our limited-term, full-time summer internship with the Traffic Engineering & Advanced Mobility (TEAM) group. This role focuses on traffic control devices and ITS to improve safety and mobility across roadway projects.

The ideal candidate will have coursework in transportation engineering, prior internship experience, and knowledge of MicroStation or AutoCAD. You should be comfortable working outdoors and lifting up to 25 pounds.

Qualifications

• Completed at least one transportation engineering course.
• Prior related internship experience.
• Knowledge of MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
• Experience with traffic simulation software (HCS, Synchro).

Responsibilities

• Traffic data collection & field work
• Use CAD and/or traffic modeling software to assist with engineering drawings, plan preparation, and project reports
• Research MUTCD, AASHTO, and local standards to support design recommendations
• Collaborate with professional engineers to brainstorm innovative safety / mobility solutions
• Other tasks as assigned
