Job summary

Kapsch TrafficCom USA is seeking a TMC Dispatcher/Operator in Lee's Summit, MO to support the Kansas City Scout center. You will monitor CCTV, post DMS messages, and coordinate emergency response to incidents in the metro area.

The role requires a high school diploma, strong communication, data entry skills, and experience with CAD/ATMS systems. This is a full-time, on-site position with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• Strong listening, written, and verbal communication.
• Detail oriented with ability to multi-task.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access).
• Typing or data entry experience.
• Dispatch experience in high-volume environments preferred.
• Experience with CAD and ATMS/CCTV systems.
• Ability to coordinate with emergency services and responders.
• Team player in a control room environment.

Responsibilities

• Create and post messages for the region’s Dynamic Message Signs (DMS).
• View traffic conditions on the CCTV to assess incidents.
• Monitor traffic status, events, and incident fault status using systems.
• Coordinate with emergency services, police, and EMS as needed.
• Dispatch emergency personnel and coordinate with Motorist Assist units.
• Enter and verify information in real-time systems during shifts.
• Assist with data collection for reports (Travel Speed/Time, incidents).
• Support shift-change coordination and cross-team communication.
