Job summary

RoadSafe Traffic Systems is hiring a Traffic Control Technician II to set up and dismantle lane closures, ensuring safe conditions for workers and the public. The role involves driving MOT and TMA vehicles, placing signs and cones, and coordinating with crews on state highways and other roadways.

The position requires 1–3 years of traffic control experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass background checks and a DOT drug test.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License required.
• 1–3 years of traffic control experience with 2,000+ field hours.
• Must pass background check including motor vehicle records.
• Must pass a drug test and meet DOT requirements.
• Wear safety gear (boots with safety toe, hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest).
• Ability to read plans and follow traffic control plans.
• Able to lift up to 70 pounds.
• Willingness to travel statewide with possible overnight stays.
• Rotating on‑call schedule.
• Mechanical background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate company trucks to transport materials and equipment to job sites.
• Drive MOT and TMA vehicles to and from projects and worksites.
• Place and manage traffic control devices and signs in work areas.
• Monitor the work zone for safety and proper placement.
• Install, remove, and reset delineators and supports.
• Perform general shop maintenance on equipment.
• Adhere to all safety rules and company policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
