Job description

Overview

SKYLAKE Adventures is a year-round destination in Sheridan, Indiana, offering a self-paced experience where guests design their own adventure. From relaxing by the crystal-clear lagoon with toes in the sand to spending the day conquering thrilling water and land attractions, every visit unfolds within a stunning natural setting.

We’re looking for passionate, reliable team members who thrive in a collaborative environment and take pride in delivering safe, exceptional operations and unforgettable guest experiences.

Snapshot

SKYLAKE Adventures, Indiana’s first large-scale adventure park, is seeking a Trade & Promotions Manager responsible for directly building and executing the park’s trade, partnership, and promotional sales strategy. This is a hands-on, player-coach role that personally owns relationship development, contracting, promotions, and day-to-day execution — not just oversight. This role will establish the park’s trade and partnership foundation from the ground up, including rate strategy, contracts, ticketing processes, promotional partnerships, and industry representation. This individual will personally attend events, negotiate deals, place materials in market, and manage campaigns.

As the park grows, this role may mentor or support additional team members and has the potential to evolve into broader leadership responsibilities. However, success in this position is defined first by strong execution and ownership. The ideal candidate thrives in dynamic environments, understands guest experience, and has a passion for outdoor adventure and experiential entertainment.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Promotions & Campaign Management
    • Solicit, evaluate, and manage promotional partnerships and cross-promotions
    • Develop and maintain the promotional calendar across advertising, digital, social, and in-park activations
    • Work directly with partners to negotiate value, assets, timelines, and deliverables
    • Coordinate with Marketing to integrate promotions into broader campaigns
    • Track performance and ROI of all promotions
  • Trade Partnerships & Sales Development
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with local businesses, tourism bureaus, tour operators, OTAs, and group business partners
    • Develop and execute the annual Sales Plan to support revenue and attendance goals
    • Establish and maintain Rate Tiers across trade segments (local businesses, wholesale, group, OTA, T&T)
    • Create, manage, and update ticket types tailored for trade channels
    • Prospect new business opportunities, conduct outreach, and grow the trade partner network
  • Contracting & Ticketing Operations
    • Develop comprehensive trade contracts, including rates, terms, performance expectations, and marketing commitments
    • Lead the process to begin contract signings and manage partner onboarding
    • Oversee approval workflows, legal review, and documentation
    • Manage trade ticket fulfillment and begin issuing tickets to authorized partners
  • Trade Marketing & Materials
    • Oversee the development and distribution of park brochures, ensuring timely placement in regional visitor centers, hotels, and partner locations
    • Create and maintain sales materials, including presentations, one-sheets, rate cards, partner toolkits, and trade-specific digital assets
    • Set and manage Sales Materials Targets & Timelines
  • Industry Engagement & Trade Shows
    • Join and maintain memberships in Key Trade Organizations & Associations
    • Attend Annual Tourism Events representing the park professionally
    • Exhibit at key industry events and trade shows
  • Planning, Forecasting & Reporting
    • Prepare a Contingency Plan including alternative rates, backup partners, and potential market segments for quick rollout if needed
    • Collaborate with internal teams (Marketing, Senior Leadership, Operations) to ensure trade initiatives align with park goals
    • Build and maintain Sales Reporting Set Up, including partner performance, rate utilization, and ROI reporting
    • Provide regular updates to leadership regarding progress toward milestones and trade channel performance
