Snapshot

The Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safe operation of water experiences by monitoring water activities, enforcing safety rules, performing rescues, administering first aid or CPR when necessary, and delivering exceptional guest service.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Ensure the proper use of safety practices and procedures while surveilling the lake in water depths up to 18 feet. Safely evacuate the lake in accordance with operating procedures.
  • Make quick decisions, recognize, respond to, and extract an individual in distress. Administer first‑aid, participate in active rescues, and summon Police/EMS/Fire when necessary.
  • Maintain full knowledge of Emergency Action Plans and ensure incident/first‑aid reports are filled out completely.
  • Welcome and greet guests, screen for any requirements or special needs.
  • Provide resort information to guests and become extremely familiar with names or jargon used to describe inflatable parts, locations on the beach, and the wristband identification system.
  • Perform proper inspection of the inflatables prior to park opening to ensure quality and proper working conditions, including daily submersion.
  • Clean the inflatables and rental equipment.
  • Properly issue and receive back rental equipment items. Conduct daily inventory of rental items.
  • Be able to work in a fast‑paced environment and move equipment pertaining to the experiences.
  • Communicate via whistle and distinguish hand signals up to 50 feet away.
  • Maintain lifeguard qualification (provided by SKYLAKE) and monthly in‑service requirements.
  • Assist with secondary beach functions such as sand removal, trash pickup, cleaning guest/team restrooms, and any other tasks set forth by the leadership team.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What Makes You a Fit
  • Must be at least 16 years old and obtain STARGUARD (SGE) Lifeguard certification, CPR, First Aid, and AED. SKYLAKE will provide training prior to opening.
  • Must be professional, energetic, self‑motivated, and have a positive attitude.
  • Must demonstrate physical competence by:
    • Completing a 100‑meter swim (without stopping or resting)
    • Completing an 8‑ft brick retrieval
    • Completing a 3‑minute tread‑water exercise
    • Completing a single victim rescue and demonstrating proper rescue techniques (untimed)
  • Must be able to work in an outdoor environment with loud noises.
  • Must be able to read, write, communicate, and follow safety instructions and procedures.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
