Job summary

The J. M. Smucker Company is seeking an Analyst, Trade Payments in Orrville, OH.

This role ensures accurate, timely, and compliant administration of trade payment programs including broker commissions, bottle bill fees, tonnage, and LDI funding. You will collaborate with Sales Operations, Customer Data, IS, Regulatory, AP, and Customer Logistics to align requirements and maintain data and reporting. Hybrid work arrangement (onsite at least 9 days per month) supports end-to-end payment

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum 1 year of related business experience in Supply Chain or Financial Accounting.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, etc.).
• Ability to analyze large data sets, identify discrepancies, and take corrective action.
• Ability to communicate across multiple departments and leadership levels.
• Highly detail-oriented and organized.

Responsibilities

• Manage the calculation and payment of all broker commissions based on sales and deduction data for all markets.
• Manage all manual brokerage payment adjustments required on a monthly/quarterly basis.
• Prepare monthly journal entries to record brokerage calculations and adjustments in GL.
• Prepare and distribute monthly broker commission statement packages.
• Research, analyze, and resolve brokerage calculation issues and discrepancies with internal partners.
• Coordinate with internal IS partners to develop enhancements within the brokerage process.
• Prepare the calculation, reporting, and payment of bottle deposits and recycling fees required in various states.
• Review and approve weekly invoices from a 3rd party recycling agent.
• Coordinate with internal partners to ensure all applicable bottle items are accounted for in reporting.
• Prepare reporting of tonnage fees required in 30 states on a quarterly/semi-annual/annual basis.
