Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Tractor Technician Trainee to gain foundational knowledge of tools, safety, and shop rules. You will learn to handle air brake systems and FHWA inspections while supporting routine repairs in a full-time role.

The position may involve outdoor work, variable shifts, nights, weekends, and overtime. Strong communication and teamwork are essential to succeed in this entry-level role within maintenance.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age and willing to work outdoors, in elements, or across multiple shifts including nights/weekends.
• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent required.
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds and wear protective PPE when needed.

Responsibilities

• Shadow a senior team member to learn repairs to company/manufacturer specs; follow SRT and warranty guidelines.
• Follow all shop safety procedures and maintain professional communication with JB Hunt personnel and customers.
• Train to become efficient in routine preventive maintenance, part replacement, basic repair of air brake systems and FHWA inspections.
