J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. is hiring a Tractor Technician Trainee to gain foundational knowledge of tools, equipment and shop safety while learning repairs to air brake systems and FHWA inspections.

The role offers full-time hours with potential overtime, and requires working outdoors across shifts, including nights and weekends. Expected pay is $18.15 per hour, with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for growth within the company.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications: 18 years of age and willingness to work outdoors or across multiple shifts including nights/weekends
• Preferred qualifications: High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal)
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds
• Ability to multitask and read documents in English
• Wear PPE and follow shop safety rules
• Work independently or as part of a team
• Basic computer skills and comfort with a computer
• Basic deductive reasoning, organization, and time management
• Self-motivation and reliability

Responsibilities

• Shadow a senior team member to learn repairs to company and manufacturer specifications
• Complete work orders and train to meet standard repair times and warranty guidelines
• Follow shop safety procedures at all times
• Maintain professional communication with JB Hunt personnel and customers
• Train to handle routine preventative maintenance and air brake systems basic repairs and FHWA inspections
