Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Tractor Technician Trainee to gain foundational knowledge of tools, equipment, and shop safety. You will learn to repair air brake systems and FHWA inspections, and work across shifts including nights and weekends with overtime potential.

Under close supervision, you will shadow senior technicians, perform basic repairs, and communicate professionally with team members and customers. This entry role requires physical work and full-time attendance.

Qualifications

• Basic ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and work under supervision.
• Adaptability to outdoor conditions and varying shifts.
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds and handle basic mechanical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Shadow a seniored technician to learn to perform repairs to company and manufacturer specifications.
• Follow all shop safety procedures and maintain professional communication with JB Hunt personnel and customers.
• Train to become efficient in routine preventive maintenance, replacement of parts, and basic repairs for air brake systems and FHWA inspections.
