Job summary

Genesee & Wyoming Inc. is looking for a Track Laborer to help maintain the safety and reliability of railroad infrastructure. You will work outdoors in all weather, using hand tools and heavy equipment to maintain, repair, and replace track components.

This role offers on‑the‑job training and growth opportunities in a team‑driven environment. The position requires a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver's license, with potential CDL consideration.

Qualifications

• Able to read and interpret documents including safety rules, manuals, and regulations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with heavy hand tools and outdoor work is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all railroad safety and operational regulations.
• Repair and rebuild railroad track using hydraulic or hand tools.
• Remove and replace ties and rails; pull and drive spikes; shovel rock ballast.
• Inspect tools and equipment for defects to ensure safe condition prior to use.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot problems on equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
