Job summary

Genesee & Wyoming Inc. is hiring a Track Laborer to maintain the safety and reliability of railroad infrastructure.

You will work outdoors in various weather conditions, using hand and heavy equipment to maintain and repair tracks, with hands-on training and growth opportunities in a team-driven setting. The role requires adherence to safety regulations, ability to operate tools such as torches and jacks, and willingness to work nights/shifts as needed in a 24/7 environment.

Qualifications

• Pre-employment physical, hearing, and vision medical review.
• Background screening including criminal and motor vehicle driving history.
• Relocation within 50 miles of the location may be required; relocation assistance not offered.
• Must live within 50 miles of assigned location or be willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and replace railroad track components outdoors in all weather.
• Inspect tools and equipment to ensure safe condition before use.
• Repair and rebuild track using hydraulic or hand tools; remove/replace ties and rails; pull spikes.
• Follow federal/state railroad safety and operational regulations; work with trainers/supervisors.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and troubleshoot issues.
