Job summary

Genesee & Wyoming Inc. is seeking a Track Laborer to help maintain the safety and reliability of railroad infrastructure. You will work outdoors in all weather, using hand tools and heavy equipment to maintain, repair, and replace track components.

This is a physically active role with on-the-job training and growth opportunities. You’ll follow federal and state safety regulations, work with a trainer or supervisor, and perform routine equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• At least eighteen years of age.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all railroad safety regulations and operate under supervision.
• Repair and rebuild railroad track using hydraulic or hand tools.
• Remove and replace ties and rails; pull and drive spikes; shovel ballast.
