Blue Origin is seeking a Materials and Process Engineer II (TPS) to design, develop, and implement materials and processes for thermal protection systems in space vehicles. You will select materials, coordinate testing, and collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure robust TPS performance.

The role emphasizes planning, data reduction, and documentation of test results, with opportunities to contribute to evolving materials standards in a challenging aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Materials Science/Engineering or closely related technical field.
• 2+ years of Materials and Process Engineering experience.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings to their intent.
• Experience disposing non-conformances and coordinating test campaigns.

Responsibilities

• Lead material test campaigns from planning to data delivery.
• Evaluate and select TPS materials for mechanical and thermal performance.
• Manage fabrication and lab characterization of test articles.
• Maintain traceability for specimens and batches.
