Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a hands-on Materials/Process Engineer to support the development, qualification, and production of TPS, adhesives, sealants, and coatings for flight hardware. You will work under experienced engineers in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, applying polymer chemistry knowledge and safety practices.

Qualifications

• BS in Chemical Engineering or related technical field.
• 2+ years in materials/process development or lab testing.
• Foundational polymer chemistry and cure kinetics knowledge.
• Strong technical writing and ability to develop process specs.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and CAD.
• SDS knowledge and chemical safety practices.
• Collaborative, proactive and adaptable to changing requirements.
• US citizenship or eligible to work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers in development, testing and qualification of TPS and coatings.
• Execute coupon-level and component-level process qualifications and tests.
• Draft and edit material specifications and test plans.
• Perform chemical/physical testing (DSC, TGA, FTIR, DMA) and mechanical tests.
• Scale up chemical processes from lab to production for flight hardware.
• Provide hands-on shop-floor support and track process metrics.
