Job summary

Leidos seeks a Towed Systems IMA technician in Chesapeake, VA to inspect, test, troubleshoot, assemble and install towed array modules on Navy vessels. The role involves pier-side work in all weather, with potential overseas travel and overtime to meet Navy schedules.

On-the-job training is provided; candidate must obtain interim Secret clearance, be a US citizen, and operate with minimal supervision. Preference for Navy platform experience and familiarity with related equipment.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited technical institute or apprentice program in electronics above the high school level or successful completion of a military electronics course equivalent to U.S. Navy
two years experience in the test and repair of electronic/electrical equipment.
Experience in the use of electronic test equipment and operation of various hand held power tools.
Must obtain a minimum of an interim Secret prior to commencement of employment.
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

Conduct towed array module physical inspection and electrical testing.
Troubleshoot and repair electronic/electrical equipment and assemble/tow towed array hardware.
Perform shipboard installation and removal of towed bodies pier-side.
Travel overseas and within CONUS on short notice as needed.
Work overtime or extended travel to support surge Navy operations.
