Job summary

Leidos Inc. seeks a Towed System IMA technician in Chesapeake, VA to support submarine and surface ship towed acoustic systems. Responsibilities include inspection, testing, and installation; travel may be required to support surge work and other IMAs.

Candidate must be able to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret clearance, lift 40 lbs, and operate company vehicles. Overtime and pier-side work are possible to meet Navy schedules.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited technical institute or electronics/apprenticeship program with relevant experience.
• Experience using electronic test equipment and handheld power tools.
• Must obtain a interim Secret clearance prior to starting employment.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Conduct towed array module inspection, electrical testing, and troubleshooting.
• Assemble and install towed bodies onboard ships and perform removal when required.
• Travel overseas and within CONUS on short notice as needed.
• Interact with Navy, government, and civilian support contractors; qualify as a Pier-Side Supervisor when opportunities arise.
