Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Towed Systems IMA technician based in Chesapeake, VA. The role supports submarines and surface ships with towed acoustic systems, including CASREP duties, shipping, warehousing and asset tracking.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited technical institute or apprentice program in electronics above high school level or completion of a military electronics course equivalent to U.S. Navy C school and at least two years experience in test and repair of electronic/electrical equipment.
  • Experience in using electronic test equipment and operation of hand tools.
  • Must obtain interim Secret clearance prior to employment.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to lift 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, test, troubleshoot, assemble, and install tow body modules on ships and pier-side.
  • Perform towed array maintenance and repair; handle shipboard installation/removal.
  • Work overtime and travel domestically/overseas as required to support US Navy schedules.
  • Interact with Navy, Government and civilian contractors and qualify as a Towed Systems IMA technician.
