Job summary

EyeCare Partners in Decatur, AL is seeking a Front Office Specialist to be the first point of contact and set the tone for a world class Total Patient Experience. You will also perform the administrative duties needed for a smooth check-in/out experience for patients.

This role emphasizes exceptional customer service, professional interaction with patients, and accurate handling of payments and insurance. Strong Excel/Word skills are valued, with a friendly, proactive approach.

Qualifications

• Previous medical office experience preferred; previous optometry and/or ophthalmology experience is strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year in a role interacting with customers/patients or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Favorable result on background check as required by state.
• Must provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Embrace and execute our Total Patient Experience to build relationships with all patients while delivering great service and support.
• Provide exceptional customer service during every patient encounter (in person or via phone).
• Greet patients promptly with a smile and thank them as they leave.
• Answer phones (external and internal) and assure prompt, courteous service.
• Practice urgency with respect to patient and doctor schedules.
• Double check insurance authorizations to ensure completion and flow sheets.
• Check out patients and collect correct payments per procedures.
• Manage patient flow and communicate to maximize efficiency and service.
• Complete daily reconciliations / close day / countdown cash drawer.
• Comply with policies including HIPAA; perform general office duties as assigned.
