Job summary

GFL Industries is seeking a Residential Driver to safely and efficiently provide waste removal services to customers on curbside and/or backdoor routes in Michigan. You will drive and operate trash and recycling collection vehicles, load and compact material, and maintain accurate route records.

Responsibilities include performing safety inspections, reporting issues, and upholding company safety standards while communicating professionally with customers. CDL required; overtime may be needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must possess a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Ability to meet safety-sensitive requirements per company standards.
• Ability to safely drive a truck and operate equipment.
• Able to lift and maneuver containers and waste carts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate a residential/recycling collection truck and ancillary equipment to collect solid waste and/or recyclables on assigned routes.
• Load waste/recyclables into the vehicle and compact material as required.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections and complete route documentation.
• Identify and report vehicle/mechanical issues to supervisor or mechanic.
• Maintain route quality and adhere to safety and company policies.
• Communicate professionally with customers and internal teams.
• May supervise/helpers and assist with routing efficiency improvements.
• Occasionally work overtime and attend safety/branch meetings.
