Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is hiring for a waste collection driver in Michigan. You will operate residential and recycling collection trucks on assigned routes, load waste and recyclables, and perform inspections to ensure safety and compliance.

The role requires a CDL, a high school diploma or GED, and at least one year of commercial driving experience. You will maintain vehicle cleanliness and assist helpers as needed on route.

Qualifications

• CDL license required.
• Minimum one year of commercial driving experience or CDL school certificate.
• Ability to meet safety-sensitive criteria and demonstrate safe driving and equipment operation.

Responsibilities

• Operate residential/recycling collection trucks on assigned routes.
• Load waste/recyclables, compact materials, and ensure proper waste handling.
• Perform pre-trip/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate documentation.
• Identify prohibited items and manage waste containers.
• Communicate vehicle issues to supervisor or mechanic.
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicle and follow safety standards.
• Assist and manage helpers as assigned.
