Job summary

Colonna's Shipyard, Inc. in Norfolk, VA, is seeking a 2nd Shift 1st Class Combination Fitter/Welder for Steel America.

The role involves fabricating, assembling, and welding metal components per blueprints to support ship repair and construction in a heavy industrial setting. The candidate should have 5+ years of experience in fitting and welding (marine preferred), be proficient in MIG/TIG/Stick/FCAW, and be able to read blueprints.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in fitting and welding, marine environment preferred.
• Proficient in welding (MIG/TIG/Stick/Flux Core) and metal fabrication.
• Able to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings.
• Must be able to lift heavy materials and work at heights, in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, shape, and align metal components per blueprints.
• Perform welding using MIG, TIG, stick, and FCAW processes to required standards.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and drawings to determine dimensions and welding sequences.
• Inspect work and ensure compliance with project specs and tolerances.
• Maintain and troubleshoot welding and fitting equipment.
