Job summary

Leidos Defense Systems seeks a Digital Systems Engineer to blend Systems Engineering, Architecture, and Project Management across the lifecycle. You will guide requirements definition, architecture working groups, and system integration, leveraging MBSE for interoperable solutions.

The role emphasizes model-based workflows, Velocity scripting for automated reports, risk management in modeling environments, and collaboration across matrixed teams to deliver fast, reliable outcomes.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret Clearance
• Master’s degree in aerospace engineering, systems engineering, or a related STEM discipline with 2+ years of experience; OR a bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of core systems engineering and systems architecture experience.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience developing architectural system concepts, structural diagrams, and model-based configurations in Cameo Systems Modeler or other No Magic tools.
• Proven experience building and applying template scripts (such as Apache Velocity) to drive report automation and technical documentations generation inside system modeling environments.
• Prior experience leading or coordinating engineering tasks, with foundational technical project management capabilities and the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent oral communication skills with a history of delivering internal/external briefings, design reviews, or technical demonstrations.
• U.S. Citizenship is strictly required. Candidate must possess an active Top Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead MBSE conceptual model space to capture complex stakeholder requirements and establish end-to-end systems architecture and traceability.
• Lead multidisciplinary requirements and architecture working groups to align engineering development with expectations.
• Develop, debug, and implement Velocity-scripted automation within Cameo Systems Modeler for report automation and ICD generation.
• Drive system integration by linking engineering toolsets and data models across the lifecycle to simulate programs and test digital ecosystems.
• Perform risk identification and risk management modeling within system architectures and establish standardized tracking.
• Perform template validation and syntax refinement to ensure high-fidelity report creation and data consistency.
• Foster teamwork and collaboration across matrixed organizations.
