Job summary

Leidos Defense Systems seeks a Digital Systems Engineer to blend systems engineering, architecture, and project management across the lifecycle. You will guide requirements, lead MBSE efforts, and ensure interoperable designs with automated ICD generation.

You will apply Velocity scripting within Cameo to automate reports, integrate data models, and support risk-managed product development in a fast-paced defense environment.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret Clearance.
• Master’s degree in aerospace engineering, systems engineering, or a related STEM discipline with 2+ years of experience; OR a bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of core systems engineering and systems architecture experience.
• Hands-on experience developing architectural system concepts, diagrams, and model-based configurations within Cameo Systems Modeler or other No Magic tools.
• Proven experience building and applying template scripts (Apache Velocity) to drive report automation and documentation generation.
• Experience leading or coordinating engineering tasks with technical PM capabilities and collaboration across teams.
• Excellent oral communication skills with history of briefings, design reviews, or demos.
• U.S. Citizenship is required with an active Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead MBSE conceptual model space to capture complex stakeholder requirements and establish end-to-end systems architecture and traceability.
• Lead dedicated multi-discipline requirements and architecture working groups to align development milestones with expectations.
• Develop, debug, and implement automated scripts using Velocity within Cameo Systems Modeler for report automation and ICD generation.
• Drive system integration by linking engineering toolsets and data models across the product lifecycle.
• Perform risk identification and modeling within system architectures to establish standardized tracking.
• Troubleshoot templates and refine syntax to ensure high-fidelity report creation and data consistency.
• Collaborate across matrixed organizations to foster teamwork.
