Job summary

Leidos Defense Systems is seeking a Digital Systems Engineer to blend Systems Engineering, Architecture, and Project Management across the lifecycle. You will guide requirements, architecture working groups, and system integration using MBSE principles to ensure interoperability and robust test artifacts.

The role requires strong communication, leadership in a matrixed environment, and willingness to travel 10-20% to customer sites. Onsite work in SCIF spaces is expected with U.S.

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering or related STEM with 4+ years experience.
• Proficiency with MBSE methodologies and SysML tools (Cameo/ MagicDraw).
• Experience with structural allocations and scripting (VTL/Python/MATLAB).
• Experience drafting and decomposing technical requirements; DOORS preferred.
• Strong communication and leadership; capable of leading small teams.
• Willingness to work onsite in SCIF; 10-20% travel; U.S. Citizenship and active TS clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the capture of high-speed system architectures in Cameo/SysML views.
• Manage requirements traceability from design to verification via EARS.
• Develop parametric models in Excel/Python/MATLAB to assess design alternatives.
• Coordinate multi-discipline requirements and open-architecture configuration management.
• Conduct trade studies and prepare executive briefs and white papers.
• Create dynamic contract deliverables and ICDs using VTL in Cameo.
• Provide technical leadership within a matrixed team.
