Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) in Aurora, Colorado, seeks a Cyber Systems Engineer at level 3 or 4 to design, implement, and secure complex systems and cloud environments within highly classified settings.

The role emphasizes RMF/NIST 800-37, cloud security, and monitoring tools such as Rapid7, Trellix, and Splunk, with DoD/IC accreditation and collaboration across systems, software, and network teams.

Qualifications

• Active Top-Secret/SCI clearance with CI polygraph at time of application.
• Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience - OR - Master's with 3 years - OR - PhD with 0 years.
• Security+ or CISSP certification.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure on AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Background with Systems Security Engineering per NIST SP 800-160.
• Experience configuring security tools (Rapid7, Trellix, Splunk).
• Experience with cloud security platforms (CSPM, CWPP, logging/monitoring).
• Knowledge of DoD 8500-series and DoDI 8510.01 directives.

Responsibilities

• Apply Systems Security Engineering across the system lifecycle.
• Design, implement, and secure cloud-based infrastructures.
• Configure and operate cyber security tools to support monitoring and incident response.
• Implement and maintain cloud security platforms and logging/monitoring.
• Lead RMF accreditation activities and documentation.
• Develop RMF assessment and authorization documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers and program management on security requirements.
• Provide leadership guidance on cyber risks and mitigations.
