Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Colorado Springs seeks a Principal or Senior Principal Cyber Systems Engineer to support the JTAGS program. You will develop security procedures, assess system integrity, and ensure RMF/DoD compliance while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The role requires active DoD Secret clearance and advanced security expertise; relocation is negotiable, with a strong emphasis on cybersecurity craftsmanship and program documentation.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret security clearance.
• Active IAT Level II (CompTIA Security+) certification.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Moderate to advanced knowledge of Trellix Endpoint Security Solutions (ESS).
• Intermediate proficiency in RHEL OS command line and Windows PowerShell.
• Understanding of NIST SP 800-37 RMF for DoD Systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and document SOPs and processes as needed.
• Recommend, implement, and support system enhancements for performance, reliability, and security.
• Perform analysis, design, development, implementation, and security assessments per NIST SP 800-53, CNSSI 1253, and DoD RMF guidance.
• Analyze information systems and network devices for configuration changes impacts.
• Apply intermediate to advanced expertise to cybersecurity projects per DoD instructions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system failures and performance issues.
• Develop and maintain cybersecurity documentation and artifacts.
• Work with cybersecurity tools (endpoint protection, SIEM, vulnerability scanners) for monitoring and response.
• Participate in technical meetings and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Support development of security inputs to program docs and CD RLs.
