Job summary

Joseph Michaels International is seeking an experienced Toolmaker for a Hastings, Michigan manufacturing facility. You will build, repair, and maintain precision tooling, reading engineering drawings and CAD prints to plan machining and assembly for high-volume production.

The role involves operating manual and CNC tools, performing precision grinding, and testing tooling during production trials, with competitive hourly pay and shift premiums.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with industrial experience.
• Completion of a recognized Tool & Die or Toolmaker Apprenticeship with 4+ years experience, or 8 years progressive Toolmaker experience.
• Experience as Toolmaker, Tool & Die Maker, or related precision manufacturing roles.
• Experience building/repairing dies, fixtures, molds, and tooling.
• Proficient in reading engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD prints, and docs.

Responsibilities

• Build, repair, modify, and maintain precision tooling.
• Interpret drawings, blueprints, CAD prints, and specs to determine methods.
• Plan and perform precision machining, bench work, fitting, assembly, and finishing.
• Set up, operate, and maintain mills, lathes, drills, grinders, and CNC Tool Room equipment.
• Perform precision surface grinding and inspect tooling for conformance.
