Job summary

Sora Resource Group is partnering with a Hastings, Michigan-based manufacturing client to recruit skilled Toolmakers for a full-time direct-hire role. You will build, repair, and maintain dies, molds, jigs, fixtures, and production tooling within a modern Tool Room.

You will read engineering drawings, set up manual and CNC tools, and perform precision machining with tight tolerances. 2nd and 3rd shifts available; pay range is $33.00–$38.00 per hour plus shift premiums.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus formal Tool & Die/Toolmaker apprenticeship.
• 4 years Toolmaker experience, or 8 years progressive Toolmaker experience in manufacturing.
• Experience reading engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD prints, and specs.

Responsibilities

• Build, repair, modify, and maintain precision tooling for high-volume manufacturing.
• Set up, operate, and maintain mills, lathes, drill presses, grinders, and CNC tool room equipment.
• Inspect tooling and machined components to ensure conformance to drawings and specs.
• Diagnose tooling failures and perform preventative maintenance to improve reliability.
