Job summary

Advanced Powder Products, Inc. in Centre County, PA, seeks a skilled Tooling Technician to make and repair fixtures, tooling, and machine parts used in the manufacturing process.

You will read blueprints, troubleshoot tooling, and support molding engineers while maintaining ISO 13485/9001 standards. A two-year degree and 5 years in injection molding tooling are expected, with proficiency in SolidWorks, Mastercam, and CNC equipment.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Tool and Die or Machine Tool Technology.
• 5 years of injection molding tooling experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office, SolidWorks, Mastercam, Adobe.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, organize, and maintain injection molding tooling.
• Inspect, measure, fit-up, and document new tools as they arrive.
• Support molding engineer during conditioning of new tools.
• Repair damaged tooling by welding, grinding, machining.
• Troubleshoot production tooling and fix issues with flash.
• Read blueprints and schematics to create and build fixtures/tools/parts.
• Assist with tooling concept layout and design reviews.
• Oversee tooling during build, storage and inventory.
• Operate vertical mill, surface grinders, lathe, CNC, and EDM.
• Follow ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 standards.
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Associates degree in Tool and Die or Machine Tool Technology
• 5 years of experience in injection molding tooling
• Working knowledge of MS Office, Solidworks, MasterCam, Adobe
• Ability to operate machine tools -- vertical mill, surface grinders, CNC, and EDM
