Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Tooling Engineer 2/3 for our Rocket Center, WV site to lead tooling design and fabrication activities on on-site programs. You will coordinate with customers and internal teams to ensure manufacturability, quality, and cost targets are met.

The role requires a Bachelor’s/Master’s in a STEM field and the ability to obtain a DOD Secret Clearance. Experience with NX or CAD tools and tooling fabrication is preferred, with potential discretionary bonuses and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s STEM degree with relevant tooling fabrication/production experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Clearance.
• Experience with tooling design and manufacturing processes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate design and fabrication requirements for tools and fixtures with customers.
• Perform tolerance analysis to ensure form/fit/function.
• Conduct root cause failure investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and evaluate process improvements for tooling programs.
• Assist product development to ensure manufacturability and validate processes.
• Manage all project phases from design to validation and delivery.
• Interface with review teams to ensure customer satisfaction with design.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to meet quality, cost and schedule objectives.
• Develop tooling concepts and improve manufacturing processes to meet requirements.
• Review drawings for manufacturability and support vendors during fabrication.
