Challenge Manufacturing in Walker, MI is seeking an Advanced Tooling Engineer to drive tooling design and GD&T from quoting through production, ensuring part specifications and deadlines are met for high-quality 100% stampings.

The role requires a strong background in tool and die build or sheet metal stamping with at least six years of experience and a engineering degree preferred. This is a first-shift, M-F on-site at our Walker facility.

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED (required).
• Minimum six years’ experience in Tool and Die Build/Design or Sheet Metal Stamping or equivalent education and experience (required).
• Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline (preferred).

Responsabilidades

• Supports the creation of GD&T and tooling data.
• Coordinates tool design, tool build, design reviews, sample requirements, part layouts, and archiving tool CAD data.
• Creates SOWs and secures signed SOWs from suppliers.
• Follows tooling and component gages from PO to home line buyoff and beyond.
• Prepares approvals/check sheets before shipping to ensure compliance with Challenge specifications.
• Supports pre-source meetings with suppliers to verify quotes before release.
• Provides release level data and GD&T to suppliers.
• Manages tooling project schedules by reviewing die shop and gage shop timelines.
• Tracks weekly issues and ensures timely closure.
• Verifies part quality during the program for each build requirement.
• Attends Weekly Open Issues Meetings to report status.
