Job summary

Genesee Metal Stamping designs stamping dies, tooling, and check fixtures using CAD (SolidWorks, Logopress, AutoCAD). Safety, ergonomics, and production needs are embedded in every design choice to support efficient manufacturing.

Lead tooling builds with internal and external toolrooms, plan trials, debug issues, and ensure quality. Collaborates with Engineering, Tool/Die, Quality, and Production daily while maintaining thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in tooling design, development, or manufacturing engineering.
• Background in progressive stamping dies.
• SolidWorks proficiency (Logopress preferred) with some 2D design exposure.
• GD&T expertise; fluent in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Hands-on familiarity with tool/die build, debug, machining, and setup/repair.
• Ability to perform root-cause analysis on part failures.
• Experience with transfer/progressive dies, coil-fed presses, and in-die tapping/assembly.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop stamping dies, tooling, and check fixtures with CAD (SolidWorks, Logopress, AutoCAD).
• Embed safety, ergonomics, and operational needs into every design decision.
• Lead tooling builds with internal/external toolrooms; manage schedules and deliverables.
• Plan/execute trials and validations; debug and resolve issues to stabilize quality.
• Continuously improve material usage, cycle time, press tonnage allocation, and process flow.
• Collaborate daily with Engineering, Tool & Die, Quality, and Production teams.
• Maintain thorough documentation: models, drawings, specifications, and guidelines.
• Recommend and implement improvements that boost efficiency and reduce waste.
