Build the tools that build what mattersAt Genesee, manufacturing excellence starts at the tool. Your mission: conceive, build, and refine stamping dies and fixtures that deliver quality parts at speed and at cost.Your mandateArchitect stamping dies, tooling, and check fixtures with CAD (SolidWorks, Logopress, AutoCAD) that meet safety, ergonomic, and performance criteria.Lead the tool build lifecycle with internal and external shops; own timelines and quality gates.Run tooling trials and validations; troubleshoot form, fit, and function to steady‑state production.Engineer process gains: optimize material strip layouts, cycle times, tonnage, and press line flow.Coordinate across Engineering, Tool & Die, Quality, and Production to launch and sustain tools.Publish and maintain complete design documentation: models, drawings, specifications, and standards.Continuously propose improvements that elevate efficiency and minimize waste. How you'll winEducation/experience: High School Diploma/GED and an engineering degree or equivalent experience.5+ years in tooling design/development or manufacturing engineering, with a progressive die focus.Proficiency in SolidWorks (Logopress preferred) and familiarity with 2D design.GD&T mastery and expert print interpretation.Practical grounding in tool and die build, debug, machining, and setup/repair.Root‑cause analysis skills to resolve part failures quickly.Exposure to transfer/progressive dies, coil‑fed presses, and in‑die tapping/assembly.Preferred profileCertified Toolmaker or 5+ years in Tool & Die; apprenticeship completion a plus.APQP/PPAP execution experience; working knowledge of ISO standards.Lean/CI mindset with measurable improvements delivered.Clear communicator, meticulous documenter, and creative problem solver.Imagine this scenarioYou inherit a transfer die that is splitting a flange on station 3. You review the strip layout, confirm press tonnage, add relief to a form steel, tune feed progression, validate with GD&T on the check fixture, and document updates in SolidWorks. Scrap drops, cycle time tightens, and the line hits rate—repeatable and at quality.Growth, benefits, and flexibilityHybrid rhythm: on site Monday–Thursday, remote Friday.Bonus eligibility based on personal performance and overall plant profitability.Career growth pathways and high‑impact projects.Competitive salary and benefits package.A culture that encourages innovation and empowers engineers to drive change.Capabilities & proficienciesGD&T; Troubleshooting; CAD/CAM; Mechanical Design & Engineering.Metal Stamping & Forming (Progressive Die).Tool/Die/Mold setup and repair familiarity; PPAP process expertise.Excellent communication skills.Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.Technology & equipment contextCAD platforms: AutoCAD, SolidWorks (Logopress), Solid Edge.Press environment: coil‑fed lines; progressive and transfer dies; in‑die tapping/assembly.
