Job summary

Aerotek is seeking an experienced Inventory Lead (Tool Crib) to oversee a tool crib and storage room organization project in West Columbia, SC. You will lead inventory activities, manage tool and parts tracking, and reconcile SAP records while establishing best practices for tool control.

This contract assignment runs 8–10 weeks with potential for permanent hire. Strong organizational and leadership skills, plus experience with industrial tools and SAP, are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Experience managing tool crib/inventory department/parts room or warehouse inventory operation.
• Strong understanding of industrial tools, mechanical parts and bearings.
• Experience with SAP inventory systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead organization and restructuring of tool crib and storage room inventory.
• Ensure all bins, shelving, and storage locations are labeled and stocked.
• Conduct physical inventory counts and reconcile with SAP records.
• Enter, update, and maintain inventory data in SAP.
• Identify and categorize tools, parts, and related equipment.
• Develop tool control procedures including check-in/check-out processes.
• Train staff on proper tool handling and usage procedures.
• Coordinate daily work assignments for Inventory Helpers.
• Maintain a safe, organized warehouse environment.
• Communicate discrepancies and improvement opportunities to management.

Tool Crib (Inventory) Supervisor

Location: West Columbia, SC 29172

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00/hr

Schedule: Day Shift, 40 hours per week (flexible start/end times)

Assignment Length: 8-10 Week Project with Potential for Permanent Hire

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Inventory Lead (Tool Crib) to oversee a warehouse and storage room organization project. This individual will lead inventory activities, manage tool and parts tracking, reconcile inventory records within SAP, and establish best practices for tool control and handling procedures. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the organization and restructuring of tool crib and storage room inventory.
• Ensure all bins, shelving, and storage locations are properly labeled and stocked.
• Conduct comprehensive physical inventory counts and reconcile inventory with SAP records.
• Enter, update, and maintain accurate inventory data within SAP.
• Identify and categorize tools, parts, bearings, packing machine components, hand tools, and related equipment.
• Develop and implement tool control procedures, including check-in/check-out processes.
• Train and demonstrate proper tool handling and usage procedures to employees as needed.
• Coordinate daily work assignments for Inventory Helpers.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient warehouse environment.
• Communicate inventory discrepancies and process improvement opportunities to management.

Qualifications

• Previous experience managing a tool crib, inventory department, parts room, or warehouse inventory operation.
• Strong understanding of industrial tools, mechanical parts, equipment, bearings, packing machine components, and hand tools.
• Experience with SAP inventory systems preferred.
• Ability to perform inventory audits, data entry, and record reconciliation.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills.
• Ability to lift, move, and organize inventory as needed.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.

Additional Information

• First week consists of project-specific training.

• Must successfully pass 7yr check and drug screening prior to start.
• Strong performers may be offered permanent employment after project completion.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of West Columbia, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
