Job summary

The State of New Hampshire, Department of Transportation, Bureau of Turnpikes, seeks a Toll Shift Supervisor to manage toll plaza operations, security, revenue, and traffic counts during a designated shift. Join a team responsible for toll collection and staff coordination on NH Turnpikes.

Responsibilities include supervising toll personnel, maintaining revenue integrity, scheduling, and coordinating with a traffic center on incidents.

Qualifications

• Equivalent combination of 1 year of education and experience after completion of high school.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet MVR standards.
• Must stand for most of the shift and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Able to work in varying climates and maintain professional appearance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise toll plazas, oversee toll collection and staff training per procedures.
• Maintain security and accountability of toll revenue and vendor pickups.
• Evaluate staff performance and manage leave allocations.
• Prepare weekly schedules and assign toll personnel as traffic demands require.
• Report toll system malfunctions to the vendor and coordinate fixes.
• Prepare records on safety, property damage, system functionality and traffic stats.
• Coordinate with TMC on weather events, accidents and delays; request emergency services if needed.
• Oversee building maintenance, housekeeping and snow clearing around the toll plaza.
